On-Page SEO Services: Fix Intent, Titles & Internal Links
See exactly which on-page elements are holding your pages back. Free audit of your top 10 pages covering title tags, heading structure and cannibalization.
Why good pages get stuck on page two
On-page problems rarely announce themselves. Traffic just quietly plateaus. If any of these describe your site, on-page SEO is where your next win is hiding.
Google decided what your page is about, and it picked something you never targeted. That's a title, heading and intro problem.
Classic keyword cannibalization. Google splits the signals across three pages and ranks none of them properly.
You're visible but nobody's choosing you. Title tags and meta descriptions are doing the losing.
New template, new heading structure, lost internal links. The design improved and the on-page signals broke.
Your informational content earns traffic while your commercial pages sit idle. Usually an internal linking and intent mismatch.
More content on a weak on-page foundation just creates more pages that don't rank. Fix the foundation first.
The honest version: on-page SEO is the highest-return work in search precisely because it uses assets you've already paid for. Before you commission another twenty articles, it's worth finding out what the existing ones could do with their signals corrected.
Eight elements that decide whether a page ranks
Tap any element to see what we check and what we change. This is the same walkthrough we give you on the audit call.
What's included in our on-page SEO services
Every engagement starts with an audit, then works through these in priority order — highest impact and lowest effort first.
Keyword mapping & search intent
One primary keyword per page, mapped across your whole site so nothing overlaps. We classify the intent behind each term — informational, commercial, transactional — and check your page format actually matches it.
Title tags & meta descriptions
Rewritten for every page that matters, tested against pixel width so nothing truncates in the results, and written to raise click-through rate rather than just contain the keyword.
Heading structure & content hierarchy
Clean H1–H3 nesting that mirrors how people search. We rebuild headings around real People Also Ask questions so the page becomes eligible for more than one snippet.
Content gap & semantic optimization
We compare your page against the current top ten and identify the subtopics, entities and related terms they cover that you don't. Then we brief the additions — or write them for you.
Internal linking & topic clusters
We build hub-and-spoke clusters, add contextual links between related pages, and fix orphan pages that nothing links to. This is the most underused ranking lever on most websites.
Keyword cannibalization fixes
We find every set of pages competing for the same query and resolve it — consolidate, differentiate, canonicalize or redirect. Often the fastest ranking gain available on an established site.
Schema markup implementation
Article, Service, FAQ, Product, LocalBusiness, Breadcrumb and Review schema, validated and monitored. Structured data is how you become eligible for rich results and how AI search engines read your page.
Image & media optimization
Descriptive filenames, genuine alt text, WebP conversion, correct sizing and lazy loading. It improves accessibility, opens up image search, and takes weight off your Core Web Vitals.
Featured snippet & AI search targeting
Definition blocks, comparison tables, numbered processes and concise question answers — formatted so both Google's snippets and AI answer engines can lift them cleanly.
Topic clusters turn scattered posts into authority
A pile of unconnected blog posts tells Google nothing about what you specialize in. A cluster does. One comprehensive pillar page covers the broad topic, supporting pages handle the specific long-tail questions underneath it, and every page links back to the hub with descriptive anchor text.
The effect compounds. Each supporting page passes relevance to the pillar, the pillar passes authority back down, and Google starts treating your site as a subject-matter source rather than a collection of pages that happen to share a domain.
We map your existing content into clusters first — most sites already have the pieces and just haven't connected them.
What changes on a page we've optimized
| Element | Typical before | After optimization |
|---|---|---|
| Title tag | Brand name first, 90+ characters, truncated in results | Under 60 characters, keyword led, written for the click |
| Search intent | A sales page targeting an informational query | Page format matched to what already ranks for the term |
| H1 | Missing, duplicated, or wrapped around the logo | One clear H1 that states the page's topic |
| Heading structure | Bold text used as headings, levels skipped | Proper H2–H3 nesting mapped to search questions |
| Internal links | Orphan pages, "click here" anchors, no clusters | Contextual links, descriptive anchors, clear hierarchy |
| Cannibalization | Three pages splitting signals for one keyword | Consolidated or differentiated, one owner per query |
| Structured data | None, or invalid markup throwing errors | Validated schema, eligible for rich results |
| Images | IMG_4821.jpg, no alt text, 2MB uploads | Named, described, compressed, correctly sized |
| Content depth | Covers the topic, misses the subtopics that rank | Gaps closed against the current top ten results |
From audit to measurable movement
Free on-page audit of your top 10 pages
Send us your URL. Within 48 hours you get a plain-English report showing exactly which on-page elements are holding each page back, ranked by how much traffic the fix is likely to return. No obligation, and it's yours to keep either way.
Keyword mapping across the site
We assign one primary keyword to every page that matters, flag every case of cannibalization, and produce a single map you can hand to any writer or developer. Most clients say this document alone changes how they plan content.
Priority fixes first
We start with the changes that move rankings fastest: titles, intent mismatches, cannibalization and internal links. You approve every content change before it goes live — nothing gets rewritten behind your back.
Implementation
We can implement directly in WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or your CMS of choice, or hand your developer a spec sheet with every change documented. Whichever fits how your team works.
Measure, then iterate
Monthly reporting on position, impressions, click-through rate and organic sessions for every page we touched. Pages that respond get more attention; pages that don't get diagnosed again rather than quietly forgotten.
On-page SEO for the sites that need it most
Small businesses & local services
Affordable on-page SEO for a small set of pages that need to rank in one city or region. Location-specific titles, service page structure and LocalBusiness schema.
Ecommerce stores
Product and category page optimization, duplicate content from filters and variants, thin category descriptions, and product schema that earns rich results in the SERP.
SaaS & B2B
Feature pages, comparison and alternatives pages, and bottom-of-funnel content built around commercial intent keywords your buyers actually search before a demo.
Content publishers & blogs
Large archives with cannibalization everywhere. We consolidate, restructure into clusters, and recover traffic from posts that stopped performing after a core update.
Sites after a redesign or migration
Rankings dropped when the new site launched. We diagnose what broke in the heading structure, internal links and metadata, then restore the signals without undoing the design.
Agencies needing white-label support
Unbranded on-page audits and implementation specs delivered under your name, for agencies who want the work done without hiring a specialist in-house.
Where on-page fits in the wider strategy
On-page SEO makes a page rankable. These make it competitive.
Technical SEO
Crawling, indexing and Core Web Vitals. If Google can't reach or render the page, perfect on-page work never gets counted.
Link Building
Once your pages are optimized, backlinks are what push them past competitors doing the same things well.
Off-Page SEO
Brand mentions, citations and reputation signals that back up the expertise your on-page content claims.
On-page SEO questions, answered
What is on-page SEO and how is it different from off-page SEO?
On-page SEO covers everything you control on your own website: content, title tags, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, internal links, images and structured data. Off-page SEO covers signals from elsewhere — mainly backlinks, brand mentions and citations. On-page tells Google what your page is about; off-page tells Google whether to trust it. You need both, but on-page comes first because links pointing at a badly optimized page waste their value.
How long does on-page SEO take to show results?
Faster than most SEO work. Title tag and intent fixes on pages that already rank in positions 5–20 often move within two to four weeks, once Google recrawls. Deeper changes — content gaps, cluster restructuring, cannibalization consolidation — typically show clearly between months two and four. Brand-new pages take longer because they have no history to build on.
What is keyword cannibalization and how do you fix it?
Cannibalization happens when two or more of your pages target the same keyword, so Google has to pick between them and often ranks neither well. We identify every case using Search Console query data, then choose the right fix for each: merge the pages and redirect, differentiate them onto separate keywords, or set a canonical if the duplication is structural. On established sites this is frequently the single fastest ranking gain available.
Do I need to rewrite all my content?
Almost never. Most pages need targeted edits, not rewrites — a better title, a reworked opening that answers the query directly, two missing subtopics added, and proper internal links. We only recommend a full rewrite when a page targets the wrong intent entirely, and you approve every content change before it goes live.
How much do on-page SEO services cost?
It depends on how many pages need work and whether you want us to implement or just specify the changes. A focused engagement on 10–20 pages costs considerably less than an ongoing programme across a large ecommerce catalogue. The audit is free, and we quote from what it finds rather than from a package sheet. Ask for a quote here.
Will you make the changes or do we implement them?
Either. We can work directly in WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and most common platforms, or deliver a documented spec sheet your developer can work from. Some clients want us hands-on; others prefer to keep site access internal. Both work.
Does on-page SEO still matter with AI search and AI Overviews?
More than before. AI answer engines rely heavily on clear structure, direct answers near the top of a page, and valid structured data to understand and cite a source. The formatting that wins featured snippets is largely the same formatting that gets a page quoted in an AI answer. Well-structured on-page work now serves two audiences instead of one.
How many keywords should one page target?
One primary keyword, plus the semantically related terms and question variations that naturally belong to it. A page about title tag optimization should also cover title tag length, pixel width and click-through rate — those aren't separate targets, they're part of covering the topic properly. Problems start when you try to make one page rank for two genuinely different search intents.
What does your free on-page SEO audit include?
We review your top ten pages against more than forty on-page checks and send back a prioritized report: what's wrong with each page, why it matters, and roughly how much traffic the fix could return. It arrives within 48 hours, there's no obligation, and you keep the report whether or not you work with us.
